Sophie - This looks really good. I live in SF Bay Area and the berries are exploding. I am going to the Marin Farmers Market tomorrow and will get strawberries to make this. Delicious!

I'm not adverse to putting a bit of cold herbal tea in a smoothie as well. And through a gradual process of elimination I've found rooibos and peppermint tea work best. If I have a cuppa during the day I sometimes make a bit extra and leave it in the fridge over night. I then add that into the mix instead of milk or juice. Works quite well.

I am having smoothies for breakfast every morning at the moment. I soak oats in my soy milk over night and then add a chilled banana and frozen berries and blitz. It is still icey cold even after braving the tube.

Yum, smoothies! But I still love my juicer! Nothing like fresh juice and I have to say my Breville cleans up in a snap.

I made a smoothie yesterday and was thinking it had been too long - am on a quest for a green smoothie with kiwi fruit.
Your note about yoghurt being a good way to get more calcium is a good reminder to me as I am not a big dairy person - but I have recently been into using bananas for the creamy consistency and that bit of sweetness - I don't eat a lot of bananas so think this is a good way to get more fruit variety into my diet.

Sophie...I'd never thought about the connection between acidic fruit juices and teeth. Smoothies for me from now on, I think. They're just that little bit more satiating (sp?) anyway.
I relented this weekend and bought a punnet of blueberries from Queensland. They were a wonderful reminder that berry season is on the horizon.

I love how you posted the recipe on the sheet of paper deal, it's so cute!
Thank you for the recipe, the sound of a strawberry shortcake smoothie is surely a GREAT one!
