Good guesses everyone, especially given that it wasn't the best photograph ever! If I had one to give I think Wendy would win the prize - it isn':t samphire but definitely has similarities. It's a very tasty, crispy plant called okahijiki or land seaweed - more info posted about it here http://www.mostlyeating.com/2007/06/okahijiki.html

I think it looks like some baby flat leaf parsley I received in my CSA box a couple weeks ago. Either that or french taragon.

To me, it doesn’t look feathery enough for fennel or dill.
It’s a seaweed, I think. And its name is…. Gah! What is its name…
Samphire!

Yep, it’s either fennel or dill. I love the latter, and dislike the first, so I have to be very careful when buying stuff like that at the market:)
