Name that veg...

A bit of fun, while it's still raining here...

Would anybody like to hazard a guess as to what this is? The only clues I'm letting on are that it was grown in the UK, and is definitely edible. Place your best guess here and I'll report back later in the week!

fennel franz?

Yep, it's either fennel or dill. I love the latter, and dislike the first, so I have to be very careful when buying stuff like that at the market:)

To me, it doesn't look feathery enough for fennel or dill.
It's a seaweed, I think. And its name is.... Gah! What is its name...
Samphire!
If I'm right I'd love to hear some recipes. :)

I think it looks like some baby flat leaf parsley I received in my CSA box a couple weeks ago. Either that or french taragon.

Good guesses everyone, especially given that it wasn't the best photograph ever! If I had one to give I think Wendy would win the prize - it isn':t samphire but definitely has similarities. It's a very tasty, crispy plant called okahijiki or land seaweed - more info posted about it here
